At about 7.55 the lifeboat Bernard Matthews II launched and found the Fishing vessel Nicola Dawn 1/4 mile off California. The vessel had suffered engine failure. Crewman Guy Gibson was put aboard to connect a line to the vessel which was then towed back entering Great Yarmouth harbour at 9.03.
