Branches

  • All the Members are volunteers who give their services free, without any form of remuneration. This enables all the money that is donated to the Caister Volunteer Lifeboat Service go directly to the lifesaving operation.

  • Fund Raising events take place throughout the year, the main ones are organised directly by CVLS and include a beach barbeque, an annual lifeboat fete and a firework evening.

  • Additionally many other organisations that are not directly associated with Caister Lifeboat organise events and other activities to fund raise for the lifeboat. Caister also has two separate branches at Beccles and Wymondham who operate independently to support the lifeboat.
  • If you and your organisation would like to assist us or have any fund raising ideas please contact

  • Coach parties are welcome to visit the station to view the historical record boards which detail every rescue since 1868. Also there is a display of photographs showing the history of the station, including pictures of HRH Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall naming the present lifeboat in 2005.

  • Housed in the old lifeboat house is the former lifeboat Shirley Jean Adye, a Liverpool class vessel built in 1953 which served at Caister from 1973-1991. This vessel gives a clear view into the development of lifeboat technology since the second world war.
