'Push
The Boat Out' Ball
The Caister Lifeboat is proud to have been chosen
to be the recipient of the proceeds of this years
Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association Ball.
After a history which dates back to 1794, the
Caister Station can truly say we are part of the
fabric and heritage of this great County.
Since 1969 the Caister Lifeboat organisation has
been operated independently from the R.N.L.I., as
a registered charity, and today operates both an
offshore and inshore lifeboat.
At 37 knots the offshore lifeboat, Bernard
Matthews II named after the Norfolk turkey
farmer, is a Dutch valentijn class vessel and the
fastest lifeboat in the British Isles, along with
the inshore vessel, Jim Davidson, O.B.E, named
after the famous comedian and they both provide
an essential part of the lifeboat service on this
treacherous coast.
This years Ball will take place at the
County Showground on Friday, 20th June, 2008 with
all the food and ales, where possible, sourced
within the County, with adequate offerings for
everyone with Norfolk based caterers preparing
the food and serving the drinks.
Caister Lifeboat has recruited a Committee from
across the County to ensure that this is a night
to remember with a red, white and blue theme.
We look forward to your support of an
organisation whose motto is Caister men
Never Turn Back.
