To support the Lifeboat by making a donation or holding a fundraising event. This will enable the crew to carry out rescues to the highest standard with over 2000 persons saved to-date.

We have had several enquiries about gift aid donations since launching the lifeboat appeal, this method of donation has particular advantages provided you are resident in the UK for tax purposes.

For every pound you give to us, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue. It’s that simple. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation go further. This means that £100 can be turned into £128, just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid.

Higher rate taxpayers

If you pay higher rate tax, you can personally claim relief based on the difference between the basic and higher rates.
For example, if you pay tax at 40%, and give £10 to a charity, they can receive (as before) a further £2.80, making a total of £12.80. This £12.80 is called the ‘gross donation’. You can claim relief for 18% of this, which reduces the tax you pay by £2.30

Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn’t cost you a thing. So if you want your donation to go further, Gift Aid it.

Once complete please return the form with your cheque to the Treasurer by using the address above.
